Identify Our Pipeline
Pipeline markers are located throughout our pipeline rights-of-way at sites such as road crossings to help identify the approximate location of our pipeline.
Our line markers list the commodity transported, the company name, and a 24-Hour telephone number where a person monitoring our pipeline can be reached at any time.
The information provided on the line marker is helpful, but
limited
. It is important to remember that:
1.
Line Markers are placed near the pipeline, but not necessarily directly on top of them.
2.
\
A pipeline may not follow a straight line between adjacent markers.
3.
Line markers cannot be relied on to provide information on the depth or number of pipelines in the area.
It's against the law for any person to willfully and knowingly deface, damage, remove, or destroy any pipeline sign or right-of-way marker.
If you know of a damaged or missing pipeline marker, or have seen someone damage or remove one, please report it to our nearest Local Office or call our Toll-Free Emergency Line.
Pipeline rights-of-way must be kept clear of any buildings, structures, excess vegetation, or other "encroachments" which might restrict access to the pipeline. Rights-of-way protect the public and the pipeline.
